Jiffy® 703 peat pellets are a convenient, no mess way to start flower and vegetable seeds and cuttings—just add water and the pellets expand to form a pot and soil in one. Made from Canadian sphagnum peat moss which provides a rich, high quality growing environment, Jiffy 703 pellets can be transplanted directly into the ground or into larger containers.
The pellets are pre-drilled with a soft center hole for easy cutting strikes and larger seed planting. With a pellet size of 1.75" (4.45 cm) diameter by 1.75" (4.45 cm) high, approximately 50 pellets fit in a 1020 propagation tray.
PLA Netting: Reducing the use of plastic in packaging and production purposes is an important global issue. Jiffy is now in the process of switching from PE and PP plastics to PLA netting for all Jiffy Pellets. PLA net is a lightweight (12-gram weight), fine-fiber bio-web made of polylactic acid. This material is designed for any growing applications. The PLA net is biodegradable and compostable under controlled, industrial conditions. It is certified according to the harmonized European standard EN13432.
